Publix, TJ Maxx coming to Gardendale | Business
The plans for a redesigned shopping center in Gardendale will be unveiled today at the Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The Century Shoppes at Gardendale will include a Publix and TJ Maxx department store.
“This is a cardinal moment in the financial history of Gardendale,” Mayor Othell Phillips said in a release. “It marks not only our commitment to the deliberate strategic growth of this city, but also underscores our belief that Gardendale is the destination city north of Birmingham.”
At today's meeting, the mayor is also expected to announce the name of a popular restaurant that is planning to move into the shopping center.
The plans and digital concepts for the City Center will also be unveiled by architect Evan Terry and his associates during today's luncheon meeting. Finance Committee Chair Alvin Currington will talk aobut
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Gardendale Civic Center and will continue until 1 p.m. Reservations are required for the lunch, but the public can attend the presentation for free.
