JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- The investigation into Cooper Green Mercy Hospital's spending habits continues this week.
Jefferson County Commissioners has given the county DA's office information about expenditures stemming from the hospital's discretionary account without a vote of the commission. The expenditures included t-shirts for employees and money for contracts for consultants.
FOX6 News asked Jefferson County District Attorney Brandon Falls the status of the investigation this week.
"Right now there is nothing criminally actionable under Alabama criminal code that is the basis of what we look at in any situation," Falls said.
Falls says the investigation is ongoing. The district attorney says if he needs to he will call a meeting with county commissioners or the county attorney about the findings.
