FULTONDALE, AL (WBRC)- Firehouse Subs is going the extra mile to make Fultondale safer. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated an extremely expensive crime fighting tool to the Fultondale Police Department to aid in collecting evidence.

According to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, the Mini-CrimeScope 400 Alternate Light Source is worth over $10,100. It is used to detect DNA matter and fingerprints that would otherwise go undetected.

The equipment was received by Fultondale PD in a dedication on Thursday. It was awarded in the memory of Officer David Riddlesperger.
