JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- A man from Center Point is being held on no bond after being arrested for several robbery-related crimes.
Deputies say two men went inside a payday loan business on Forestdale Blvd. on Monday afternoon just after 2 p.m. The men, who did not show any weapons, went behind the counter and took money from the store's cash drawer, Chief Deputy Randy Christian said.
Christian says the suspects then forced an employee to show them the safe, and took money from it as well. An employees recognized one of the suspects, leading detectives to identify him as Curtis Williams, 29.
During the investigation, detectives determined that Williams had outstanding felony warrants for robbery and failure to appear on a charge of first degree unlawful possession of marijuana. Chief Deputy Christian said Williams was arrested on the outstanding warrants and confessed to the Forestdale robbery during his interview with detectives.
Williams is being held on no bond in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of first degree robbery, second degree robbery and failure to appear on the original marijuana possession charge.
